Load data for Pre-1911 modified receivers:
(NOTE: Model 1889 Schmidt-Rubins have a bore diameter of .304".  Modern .30 caliber bullets have a diameter of .308, and are unsafe to use.)

All I shoot in mine is round lead balls  and about four (4) grains of Bullseye pistol powder fired by a large pistol primer.

I'd have to try 8 gr. of Unique and a 180 gr. cast bullet sized to bore...
---Info from Roy

A reloader friend of mine loads them for me on 7.5 X 55 Norma brass. He uses 10 grains of ''Unique'' powder with cast lead bullets. It costs me about 4 to 5 cents per round to have him do it. He casts the bullets. That's the best route to go.
